About Roger's Taxidermy Studio LLC
Roger’s Taxidermy was started accidentally, literally!
Roger was involved in an ATV accident where a three wheeler flipped, resulting in shredded tendons in his shoulder. While healing (AKA going stir-crazy), he placed an order for a correspondence taxidermy course. Displeased with the quality of that course and yearning to become better educated in the trade, he enrolled in the North American Institute of Taxidermy in Minneapolis, MN. Upon graduation in September 1987, Roger entered some of his early mounts in the newly organized South Dakota Taxidermy Association's competition. He received first place in deer heads, first place in game birds, and third place in waterfowl. He continued to win additional awards while growing his new business.

October 1987, upon graduation from North American Institute of Taxidermy in Minneapolis, MN, Roger's Taxidermy began part time in Roger's home--the basement to be exact. He continued attending state, national and international competitions as well as seminars learning many new techniques. Quality of Roger's Taxidermy Studio flourished and the wall of ribbons grew! As Roger's reputation grew, so did his work load. Visit the gallery to see previous and current work.
