Roger’s Taxidermy was started accidently, literally! I flipped a three wheeler and shreaded the tendons in my shoulder. While healing, I ordered a correspondence course. Not happy with the quality, I enrolled in the North American Institute of Taxidermy in Minneapolis, MN.
I took a leave of absence from my electricians job and studied all phases of taxidermy for three months. Upon graduation in September 1987, I entered some of my mounts in the newly organized South Dakota Taxidermy Associations competition. I received first in deer heads, first in game birds, and third in waterfowl. I obtained many awards in the 3 short years of the association.
On October 1987, I started Roger’s Taxidermy part time in my basement.
I continued attending state, national, and international competitions and seminars learning many new techniques. My quality flourished and the wall of ribbons grew.
As my reputation grew, so did my work load. In 1990 I built a new studio. In 2000, I retired from my electrical career and began a new era of my life as a full time taxidermist.
In 2002, I organized the South Dakota Taxidermists Assocaition and was President for three years.
In 2003, I qualified as a master taxidermist.
In 2005, I became a Pope and Young official measurer.
In 2006, I became a official measurer for the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association and Safari Club International master measurer.

"Roger's Taxidermy Studio is not just another taxidermy studio.  We are committed to the finest work possible using the latest proven techniques and materials.  We are not, 'In the Business to be the cheapest; just the best!'  We prosper by offering high quality mounts and delivering great service.  We can also re-do old mounts of deer, fish, mammals, etc.  We repair horns and antlers.  If our studio can't repair it or find it, it can't be done."
